Located in beautiful Upper Saucon Township , Lehigh County, PA. "Old Saucon" is a community using Traditional Neighborhood Design techniques that are now generally referred to as "New Urbanism". The New Urbanism concept is building from the ground up, a walkable, mixed-use neighborhood or new town providing an attractive alternative to the spread out, automobile-centric, subdivisions common to the post World War II America Suburbia.

The development is situated on beautiful rolling farmland in an area that in colonial times was known as "Old Saucon". The township was formed in 1743
and lies in the rich and fertile valley of the Saucon Creek (from which it's name is derived), in the southwest portion of Northampton County. The name is of Native American origin. Sakunk, meaning "at the mouth of the creek", was an indian village that once existed where Shimersville is now located. The Township was divided in 1753 into Lower and Upper Saucon Township where Upper Saucon Township then belonged to Lehigh County.
In keeping with former agricultural use of the area the theme and identity of "Old Saucon" is to provide several sizes and types of dwellings with black and white traditional facades and lot improvements. From luxury twins and single family homes, residents will have options for living within a sustainable community focused on true neighborhood qualities of yesterday. Shallow front yard setbacks, front porches, sidewalks and tree lined streets will create a human scale environment and provide opportunities for interaction among neighbors and a greater sense of community. Locating garages and some vehicular access to the rear of properties will preserve a pedestrian friendly streetscape complimented with traditional construction materials and amenities.
